Modern dental technologies such as air abrasion, bone replacement, digital x-rays, dental lasers and sedation dentistry have greatly changed the experience of going to the dentist. Instead of painful procedures and hit-or-miss methods, the availability of digital x-rays and dental lasers makes dental care more cost-effective and precise. For those who experience extreme fear and dread over visits to the dentist, sedation dentistry, in which a patient is given relaxing sedatives to ease tensions and pain, provides a modern option for care. The variety and availability of dental technology have made it so that you no longer have any real excuse for postponing your dental appointments. Our Herndon dentist offers some of the best advancements in modern dental technology to ensure a comfortable visit for our patients.
Intra-oral cameras are small pen-sized cameras that allow the dentist (and the patient) to see a full-color 40X magnified image of the inside of the patient’s mouth. The ability to see a high-quality image of the mouth allows us to identify issues earlier. Our state-of-the-art intra-oral camera also takes snapshots of the images, enabling us to track the progress of lengthy treatments better.
Not only does the ability to see the images help the doctor, but it also helps you understand the state of your dental health.
Digital x-rays allow us to quickly assess your dental condition. Our state-of-the-art Dexis® Digital x-ray machine provides instant images so you no longer have to wait to get your dental x-ray results. The equipment also produces higher quality images and uses less radiation than traditional film-based x-rays. It helps us diagnose dental conditions more accurately.
Our patients tell us that our digital x-ray camera is less intrusive than a traditional x-ray machine.
Safe and Predictable Implant Placement
Grande Dental Care employs the latest technology in guided dental implant surgery for increased safety and care for our patients. We have special computer software and dental imaging which provides for precise implant preparation using 3D imagery before surgery. This adds a new level of precision in determining what parts of the jawbone offer the best sites for the dental implants. We then use state-of-the-art surgical guides that allow for exact placement of the implants themselves.
The result is safe, strong and perfect implant placement which will last a lifetime.
Soft tissue lasers penetrate tissue while simultaneously sealing blood vessels and nerve endings. Because soft tissue lasers do not damage the tissue, wounds heal faster after surgery and may not require sutures.
At Grande Dental Care, we use the Picasso® Diode Soft Tissue Dental Laser. It is an extremely versatile state-of-the-art soft tissue laser with advanced dental capabilities. We use the laser for a wide range of periodontal, cosmetic, surgical and whitening procedures.
We offer nitrous oxide and oxygen sedation at Grande Dental Care. It is one of the mildest forms of sedation. You will be able to see and hear everything that is going on and be able to respond to actions taking place around you.
As it is an analgesic – it relieves pain temporarily and greatly reduces anxiety. So, if you feel extremely anxious about a dental procedure, please ask us about sedation options. Nitrous oxide and oxygen sedation are extremely safe. We are well trained in administering it.
Composite Dental Materials
We use the latest composite dental materials in our dental procedures. Composites are synthetic materials that are used to restore your teeth. They are available in a wide range of colors so we can provide a composite of a color that closely matches the color of your teeth to perform nearly invisible restorations.
Composites adhere at a microscopic level with your teeth to provide a bond that is superior to that of traditional materials. They are slightly more complex to use and require a high level of expertise. Both Dr. Grande and our Herndon staff extensive experience with composite materials.
Tablets and Computers
Our office has computer terminals loaded with specialized software in every examination room. This allows our staff to access your dental records quickly and effortlessly. These terminals are integrated with our other digital equipment so that digital x-rays and intra-oral camera images are automatically added to your case file. This allows us to manage your information accurately and track your dental issues for treatment.
We will also provide you with educational content about dental procedures you are about to receive on tablet devices before your treatment. This will allow you to familiarize yourself with any procedure and help to reduce any anxiety.
